My name means "Daughter of the oath.” My story may be found in the Old Testament in the book of 2 Samuel. I made my marriage oath with Uriah the Hittite. My vow to forsake all others was broken when King David summoned me into his court after invading the privacy of my bathing time with his lustful eyes. The shame and pain I bore was unbearable. He had my beloved Uriah killed to cover his sin and made me his wife. I mourned the death of my baby in God’s righteous judgment. Through it all, God had a purpose in all of my pain. I later gave birth to Solomon, the wisest man to ever live. My voice echoes in the wisdom of Proverbs 31. The words I shared with my son Solomon continue to inspire virtuosity in women today.
