Stained Glass

Romans 1:12 “… that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”
Matthew 5:15-16 “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

If you look at a stained glass window, you will see a lot of little pieces forming one luminescent story. Let the pieces of your life be like a stained glass for others to see the beauty God has created. Your story, your thoughts, your interpretations are all unique. They can all be used to empower those around you and to be an example of what it looks like to live out the fruits of the Spirit.  It’s not always the easiest thing to do… oftentimes, God calls us out of our comfort zones. But it is in those times that these qualities are most important to remember!

  1. Is there anyone in your life that you complain about or are fed up with? Do your words tear them down… purposefully or not? How can you build them up instead?
  2. How do you encourage your friends in their faith?
  3. Do you hide your faith from your peers or others around you?
